Making Foam Dough

Yesterday 1/2 BE made foam dough. It was very messy. Here is our procedure:

Equipment:

  • Cornflour
  • Shaving foam
  • Food colouring
  • Bowl
  • Spoon

Prediction:

I predict when we mix the mixture the mixture will become squishy.

Steps:

  • Pour the same amount of cornflour and shaving foam into the bowl.
  • Add food colouring.
  • Mix it together and fell the dough.

Results:

The mixture felt like sticky shaving cream.

Today we learnt more about solids, liquids and gases. Here is the video we watched:

We learnt about the molecules move different in solids, liquids and gases. We used cereal to explain the difference.

Making Lemonade Spiders

Today we started learning about solids. liquids and gases. Here is a video we watched about it:

We made lemonade spiders to help us learn about solids, liquids and gases.

Here is our procedure:

Equipment:

Lemonade (liquid)     Ice Cream(solid)     Cups       Spoon

Prediction:

I predict when I mix the lemonade with the ice cream an invisible gas will come out.

Steps:

1. Pour the lemonade half way into a cup.

2. Put a scoop of ice cream into your cup.

3. Stir ice cream into the lemonade.

4. Then you will see lots of bubbles!

Results:

When you mix lemonade with ice cream we got bubbles, which is a gas.

Frog Scavenger Hunt

Today we went on a frog scavenger hunt! It was very fun!

Here are some of the facts we learnt:

* The poison dart frog is the most poisonous frog in the world.
*A mother frog can lay 1000 eggs in one time.
*Frogs are cold blooded.
*Frogs don’t need to drink water.
* Tadpoles don’t need to breathe.
*Frogs don’t like living in salt water.
*Tadpoles do grow back lacks.
*Frog’s eggs are squishy.
* Frog’s tongues are sticky.
*Frogs can breathe underwater.
*Frogs live in every continent, but Antarctica.
